Microwave White Cake Recipe That Is So Easy – Beauty Cooks Kisses

For those times when you get that urge for cake and want something easy and quick, I have the perfect recipe with my microwave white cake. Though you can use cake flour for a more delicate texture, I prefer using the less expensive all-purpose flour that is always in my kitchen.

This white cake uses canola oil for a healthier option over butter or shortening. It also makes it easier for creaming because this recipe involves just separating two eggs to use the whites and then mixing the rest of the ingredients with your electric mixer before pouring into your round nine-inch pan. My dish below measured  8 x 1-1/2″-inch microwave baking dish. You can also use baking pans for the microwave that measure 8 x 8 or 10 x 6-in.

My microwave white cake has a yellow tinge because it does also require one additional whole egg. For some reason, it is important for the success of this recipe.

I also like to make the one round cake at a time. However, you make a two-layer cake out of this recipe by doubling the ingredients. Just remember to bake one layer at a time in your microwave.

Something that I want to point out is if you use cake flour, then reduce the milk to one-fourth cup.

You might be wondering what you can do with those reserved egg yolks. Besides scrambled eggs or an omelet, you also might want to try my homemade vanilla pudding recipe. Honestly, it is so delicious.

I have a small microwave and this recipe takes about seven minutes on medium heat. However, the amount of time depends on the wattage power of your microwave.

I hope that the next time that you’re hungry for cake that you’ll be tempted to print my microwave white cake recipe. If you prefer my favorite version of a microwave chocolate cake, here is that recipe for you.

Microwave White Cake

1 cup of all-purpose flour, sifted or cake flour
2/3 cups of sugar
1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder, leveled
½ teaspoons of salt
½ teaspoons of vanilla
1/3 cup of canola oil
1/3 cup of milk (if you use cake flour reduce to 1/4 cup milk)
1 large egg
2 egg whites

Mix all the ingredients in your mixing bowl.

Beat with your electric mixer about two minutes until all the ingredients are well combined.

Pour the batter into a greased microwave baking dish of your choice. My dish that I used is an 8 x 1-1/2″-inch microwave baking dish. You can also use microwave baking pans that measure 8 x 8 or 10 x 6-in.

Microwave the cake at 50% (medium) power for six minutes, turning every three minutes.

Increase power to high and microwave about two or three more minutes, depending on the wattage of your microwave. Test with a toothpick, cake tester or slender knife to see if anything sticks testing for doneness.

Frost with your favorite white frosting after the cake cools.

ENJOY!
