Star Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia has been subbed off with concussion just after getting a weighty strike to the head from All-Australian Geelong defender Tom Stewart.

Prestia was dazed and puzzled next the incident in the 1st quarter of Saturday’s monster round 15 match at the MCG.

The triple premiership star had tapped a loose ball to Tigers teammate Jack Graham prior to Stewart arrived in late and struck Prestia with his elbow.

Prestia was served off the ground by trainers and then replaced in the match by Richmond large guy Ivan Soldo.

The incident is sure to bring in focus from the match review officer (MRO) and Stewart could be dealing with a significant suspension.

If the MRO judges the strike to be intentional with a large diploma of affect, Stewart would be struggling with a three-video game ban.

If the MRO claims the impact was “extreme”, Stewart would be despatched straight to the tribunal and could be experiencing 4 weeks or a lot more on the sidelines.

The MRO’s verdict will be handed down on Sunday evening.

Stewart was in deep discussion with Cats mentor Chris Scott all through the quarter-time break as the 29-12 months-aged appeared to be upset with his steps.

He went on to engage in a starring part in Geelong’s thrilling a few-place win.
